Maybe we aren't as baby dumb as we thought....

So last night was our second birthing class. Hero is convinced it is a waste of his time, but he goes because he knows not to push that button with me.

Last week they mentioned briefly about post natal care of the perinium. Hero leaned over to me and with the hugest grin whispered, "That means they are going to ice your a@@!" He has found great amusement in the mental picture of them icing my bum. So when she mentioned it again this week we both couldn't help but giggle. In fact on the way home we had a good laugh when he said if I wanted to ice my bum I should just go sit in the snow on the deck. I told he had to stop or I was going to pee my pants.

Last night we got a tour of the maternity ward. Not really much to speak about. There is a birthing tub, but as I plan on seeking pain relief via an epidural that is not an option to me. One of the fathers to be asked if the husbands got to use the hot tub. The instructor chuckled and politely told him no. Then we were in the nursery and one of the mothers to be started freaking out when the instructor talked about the first bath. She thought you couldn't use soap on a baby and was truly concerned as to the fact that they would be using Johnson's & Johnson's baby soap on her baby. And you should have seen the one father to be's face when the instructor mentioned that the wife may have a bowel movement during labor. It was classic I tell you!

I did learn last night that I am not the only mom that doesn't particularly want a slimy, bloody baby put on my chest. Glad to know I am not alone on this one!
