Approved for a consultation

Last Friday, the 31st of October I had an appointment with my PCM to discuss WLS. I had been thinking about this for a long time. However since Tricare wasn't approving the Lap-band until recently and I am terrified of gastric bypass I kept it on the back burner so to speak. After discussing my ulcerative gastroenteritis with my gastroentronologist, I decided that now was the time to as my grandma always says, "Either piss or get off the pot." So that is how I ended up in the doctor's office on Friday discussing WLS. After talking to him I was rather nervous that I wouldn't even be approved for a consultation. He said that weight and BMI wise I qualified, but since I didn't have diabetes or high blood pressure he doubted I would be approved. I just checked on-line and I have been approved for a consultation with a local surgeon.....so step one complete, now on to step two.  Lynn
