Snowblowing

Remember that snow storm I complained about a few days ago? Well we got well over a foot of snow that day.

When Hero got home he used our snow blower to clear the snow off our driveway, sidewalks, and the street in front of our house. We have a corner lot, so we have a lot of sidewalk to do. He had to do the street in front of our house because the snow plow came by when he was changing out of his uniform, but he had parked the truck on the street.

Miss M wants all of her daddy's attention when he gets home. She was screaming for him while he was outside, so I bundled her up and we went out to watch daddy. Daddy's personal cheering section so to speak.

While Hero used the snow blower I cleared off the front porch. Just doing the front porch made me grateful that we bought a used snow blower in Alaska and brought it with us, this snow was super wet, thus being super heavy. The cement under the snow was super slick because it was raining just before it snowed so all the wet pavement became a sheet of ice under the snow. Miss M and I were slipping all over the place.

Stop snowing already!

I survived three Alaskan winters. I like the snow. BUT when we got orders to Hill I asked Hero about the Utah winters. He spent the first 16 years of his life here in the Salt Lake valley. Hero assured me that even though it would snow, and maybe quite a lot, it would quickly melt.

He LIED! Okay, maybe not maliciously. I have had snow on the ground in either my front or back yard for over 2 months now. I am so over all this snow. Snow was expected and you came to understand that it would be a part of your life for over six months of the year in Alaska. It is not what I expected for our new home.

Once again it is snowing today. It is a wet, slushy, sticky snow. The kind that makes for fun snow man building, but not the kind you would let your toddler play in for very long. It is coming down in our area furiously. Today is the first time all winter that I have had to go out and clear off the satellite; twice in the last forty-five minutes alone.

I just wish the snow season would end. Bring it on spring and summer....mama wants to wear capris!
